Carl Hergenrother detected cometary activity in the asteroid 2006 XG16, which was
discovered by Spacewatch on 10 December 2006. Images taken with the 1.54-m
Catalina telescope on 27 and 28 January 2007 showed a coma and tail on the 18th
magnitude object.
Jim Scotti recovered 2006 XG16 with the 1.8-m Spacewatch II reflector on 14
September 2013 when it was 22nd magnitude.
