The Bok NEO survey with the Kitt Peak 2.25 m reflector discovered a 20th magnitude
object on 26 October 2022. Follow-up observations with the Steward Observatory 1-
m reflector at Mt Lemmon suggested cometary activity and this was confirmed by
other astrometrists. There were prediscovery observations in January, February and
March 2022 by PanSTARRS.
