Peter Veres of the MPC linked five "isolated tracklet" observations made between 20
August and 20 September 2023 to obtain a parabolic orbit. He then asked
PanSTARRS to check their images, with the team finding that the object did show
cometary features, when it was 22nd magnitude. There were pre-discovery
PanSTARRS images from July 2023.
