WASP-59b was discovered by the SuperWASP planetary transit survey. It
orbits the star WASP-59, a 13th magnitude orange dwarf K5V star, located
approximately 400 light-years away in the constellation of Pegasus.
Its was discovered in 2011, via the transit method and confirmed via the
radial velocity method.
WASP-59b is a very dense gas giant, which orbits its star approximately
once every 7.9 days.
